Occasionally, I get to be a vocal contractor as well as a singer. This was the case for a client in New York. The vocals that you hear in the background are myself and Chicago-based singer Yvonne Gage. That's the late, great Michael K Williams doing the voiceover.
If you're not familiar with The Merkins, they make song parodies on YouTube based on classic horror films and their characters. This is me singing all the voices as 'Ghostface,' doing a parody of Stevie's "I Just Called to Say I Love You". NSFW TRIGGER WARNING: the lyrics are descriptive of what happens in horror films.
The band, And the Animal, asked me to contribute vocals to their music and visual project. Here is the result. This song is my personal favorite. It's called "Huldra".
This was the first (of a few) times I worked on the tv show, Empire. This was a rare on-camera appearance as I usually only laid down the studio vocals. (I'm in the beanie and glasses.) Don't blink; you'll miss it!
